Pets Behaving Badly Network

A professional organisation for behavioural trainers of dogs, cats, parrots and horses!

For many years, Pets Behaving Badly has trained and mentored new trainers and behaviour specialists of all ages and backgrounds

We run home study courses, as well as attended courses where practical skills are honed to professional levels. Trainers are encouraged to work on both levels: knowledge is necessary to back up practical training skills, and practical skills are enhanced by back up knowledge.

We have now launched a new professional network, so that more people can fulfil their dreams and develop their dog/cat/horse/parrot training and behaviour shaping careers.

imageThe concept is simple: Those who aspire to work within this industry can study and train with a nationally recognised organisation, The College of Pet Animal Studies. On successful completion, they can begin to work professionally, or as a hobby trainer, under the supervision of experienced professionals.

All members are assessed, and receive a grade at which we feel they can successfully work according to their knowledge and experience. They pay for each piece of advice they need, until they are confident to work on their own. In the past, dog trainers used to experience a kind of apprenticeship, working with experienced trainers until they were knowledgeable and experienced. These days trainers tend to take courses, and attend seminars, and then are left with lots of knowledge and no experience - not the best service to give their first clients!

Using the network, newly qualified trainers in all species can continue to learn and develop their professional abilities through working under experience.

Pet owners can be assured of a first class service, as members can access our back up service to check the quality of their advice and training. They will receive a proper behaviour modification or training programme to follow, and a follow up contact system.

They can also be assured of the dedication and qualification of the professional they choose to use.

All members will be properly insured and abide by a code of conduct
