Good Parrot Owner's Certificate
Level One

This course does not seek to impose views on parrot owners, but rather ensure that they are in possession of up to date information, and therefore able to discuss various ideas, making informed decisions regarding the care and management of their pet birds.

This Course covers

Students will be expected to carry out a small amount of research of their own, including a small project of personal interest. However this is not a heavy academic course, so don’t be put off!

Students are encouraged to present their own opinions and findings.
On successful completion of this course a College Certificate will be issued.
Each student has a personal tutor who has passed the advance course with distinction, and is a parrot owner/trainer.

Time scale: This is a home study course, but students are encouraged to present some work for tutoring each week, and to keep in touch with their tutor.

Module One

General Care, including diet, environmental factors, safety and first aid.

Module Two

Psychology of the parrot and reward Based training

Module Three

Combining Care, psychology, and training for several species of parrot in order to provide the best possible standard of living.

Each module contains an element of research and homework.

Homework can be presented in a combination of writing, audio or video tape, and simply by talking to your tutor. This is not a heavy academic course.

The research involves observations of your own and other peoples birds.
