Good Dog Owners Certificate
Level One
The aims of this course are:
To help to educate pet owners in all aspects of caring for their dogs
To provide a basic background knowledge of Canine Psychology
To provide an insight into the needs of rescued and re-homed dogs
To help new puppy owners avoid common pitfalls
To aid those taking the Kennel Club’s Good Citizen Dogs Scheme
To aid those taking their KCAI accreditation (A modules)
Module One
Care of your dog throughout his/her life. Diet, parasite control, exercise, grooming, holiday care. The law and your dog.
Module Two
Basic canine psychology, avoiding behaviour problems, how dogs learn, and reward based training.
Module Three
a. Pulling all the information together
b. A topic of interest to the individual.
Each student has a personal tutor, and projects and homework will be individually coached.
On successful completion, students will receive a college certificate. This will count towards the Kennel Club’s Accreditation Scheme.
