Imagine if your managers and workers came up against a problem, and actually knew how to sit down and sort it out together? Would that be productive, would that make your team feel good? Would that facilitate an increase in business? What if your team actually enjoyed doing that? Would that help your customers?
Can you see your team completing a Pony Challenge? Basically, this is a rattling good fun day out! Challengers need to work together to motivate our boys. Our ponies are trained in the same way that the Harry Potter animals are trained - bridge (clicker) and target training, and they work only for carrots. Would you like your management and staff to experience working in this way? These skills are instantly transferred to the workplace at the end of the day de-brief
You might consider that everyday working life would run more smoothly if teamwork and motivation were increased. However, some options can be tedious, humiliating, expensive and downright boring. Do you like sitting in stuffy seminars? And who on earth needs to hang off a Welsh cliff face on a cold November morning?
With The Pony Challenge you learn to work in groups: motivating ponies, breaking down your Pony Challenge into small teachable sections (chain or link training). You know what? This is such good fun. It is a win win way of learning. Everyone enjoys watching the ponies trying to work out what you want them to do. They just want the carrots, and will try their hardest to get it right in order to get their reward. They love it!
On the day, challengers are put into groups of three or four, and allocated a pony. They are then given a Pony Challenge.
For example:
Pony Express The pony needs to be motivated to jump over small jumps, pick up a flowerpot, and bring it back over the poles.
Disco A routine is devised for people and pony to perform together to music.
Bend it like Beckham Goal scoring ponies, an opportunity to create nifty passing routines.
All training is strictly hands off, so Challengers have to work as a team in order to shape their pony's behaviour. This is a great way to learn about working together, shaping and motivating desired behaviour in all species, people included, and all skills can be transferred to the workplace.
We cater for all budgets, and there is no need to have any knowledge of training or ponies, and no riding is involved! (You do need wellies and woollies in the winter!)
